Washington Woman Sentenced for Her Role in Negotiating Stolen Treasury Checks

On October 28, 2022, in the Western District of Washington, Farrel Paddio was sentenced to three years of probation and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $39,899.12, plus a $100 special assessment.

According to the indictment and court documents, Paddio was arrested and subsequently pled guilty in July 2022, to one count of Title 18, U.S.C. § 641, Theft of Public Funds, in connection with a scheme. Beginning on an unknown date and continuing until September 2018, Paddio executed a scheme to unjustly enrich herself by fraudulently negotiating or otherwise forging stolen checks. Paddio converted two United States Treasury checks to which she was not entitled, to her own use. Paddio deposited both stolen United States Treasury checks into her bank accounts for a total of $28,198.
