On June 30, 2023, in the Eastern District of Washington, Jimia Cain pleaded guilty to false, fictitious, or fraudulent claims related to her role in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act fraud. Cain was sentenced to 15 months of imprisonment, three years’ supervised release, and ordered to pay $337,267 in restitution.
According to the court documents, on February 28, 2020, Cain applied for and obtained an employer identification number from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for Americore Construction Inc., using her Social Security number. On or about May 4, 2020, Cain applied for and received an Economic Injury Disaster Loan for $71,900, using false and fraudulent information for Americore Construction Inc. In that application, Cain falsely stated Americore Construction Inc. was established on February 1, 2017. On or about August 7, 2020, Cain applied for and received a $265,267 Paycheck Protection Program loan, again using false and fraudulent information for Americore Construction Inc. In that application, Cain falsely stated Americore Construction Inc. was established on February 2, 2019.
